Dhoni

Regarding Dhoni, I don't know who got this weird idea of making him Captain. How can a person, who managed 2 ducks (0 run) in world cup and showed India the exit door, be made Captain? How will he motivate his team, will be good to watch. Neither he ever lead a team in domestic cricket nor he looks like a motivator. Wicketkeeper captain is rarity in world cricket. His wicket keeping prowess is also under scrutiny. He is yet to face the Down Under music. His inability to handle the swinging and fast ball, is exposed in 1 ODI vs England. But we can not ignore his heroics on flat pitches where Kumble can hit century[:)]. If we think performance and motivation is criteria for captain, then Yuvraj is far ahead of him. Since he was in Dravid's camp and Yuvraj in Ganguly's, he was favored for captain shoe.

After Ganguly era, BCCI don't want to take a chance with aggressive captain, because this can backfire. They want meek, silent person who can obey their orders and do not ask question. Whether India loose or win, they are going to win.

But as a spectator, we can find the energy and intensity of each player on the field has reduced dramatically in Dravid's captaincy. Everybody used to be on their toes in Ganguly time. Extracting best out of everybody was Ganguly's trademark. Dravid is a Rambharose captain. same is going to be the case with Dhoni, unless he got some flat tracks.
